Our Impact

Helping Essential Workers Become Homeowners—One Neighborhood at a Time

At Turning Point Ministries, we believe that people who serve our community deserve the opportunity to live in it. That’s why we build high-quality, affordable homes for Edmond’s essential workers—teachers, medical staff, nonprofit professionals, city employees, and others who keep our community strong.

A Path to Sustainable Homeownership

Our program is designed to empower families with the tools, support, and education they need to become successful, long-term homeowners. Every buyer must:

  • Show steady income for at least two years
  • Qualify for a traditional mortgage
  • Complete a homebuyer education course
  • Complete Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University
  • Contribute 200 hours of volunteer “sweat equity” toward the homebuilding process

Sweat equity helps reduce overhead costs and allows future homeowners to invest personally in the building of their homes. While licensed contractors handle all technical construction, volunteers—including our buyers—assist with tasks like site cleanup, painting, caulking, hardware installation, and more.

Building Neighborhoods That Feel Like Home

We don’t just build houses—we build entire neighborhoods. This approach allows us to maintain the beautiful Edmond aesthetic residents expect while creating a sense of community and shared purpose. Our homes are thoughtfully designed, energy-efficient, and built to blend seamlessly into the surrounding area.

Once a home is complete, the new homeowner pays a small monthly Homeowners Association (HOA) fee that covers:

  • Lawn mowing and weeding
  • Irrigation system upkeep
  • Flower bed maintenance
  • Common area beautification

This ensures that our neighborhoods remain attractive, functional, and welcoming for years to come.

Real Change, Real Results

Every home we build represents more than just a roof overhead—it’s a life changed. Our families are able to build equity, create stability for their children, and remain in the city they serve. That’s the Turning Point difference.
