About Us

Because every strong foundation laid today supports a family’s stability, a child’s education, and a community’s growth tomorrow. At Turning Point Ministries, each home we build isn’t just a structure, it’s a launchpad for lasting impact.

“To build a home is to shape the future, one foundation, one family at a time.”

Our Mission

Turning Point Ministries was established with a clear vision: to create opportunities for hardworking individuals and families to live in the community they support. By developing quality, attainable housing in Edmond, we’re hoping essential members of our workforce build stability, invest in their futures, and strengthen the fabric of our city.

Our History

Turning Point Ministries was founded in 2008 with a mission to help modest-income families in Edmond achieve home ownership. The roots of the organization trace back to the early 1990’s, when members of First Presbyterian Church of Edmond began raising funds and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in Oklahoma City. As their efforts grew, other Edmond churches joined in, united by a shared commitment to providing affordable housing.

Recognizing the growing need for more workforce housing in Edmond itself, the group built five homes in partnership with Habitat before establishing Turning Point Ministries to serve their own community more directly. No longer an organization led by a single church, but rather a passionate group of individuals from various churches and businesses, we have grown to build whole neighborhoods at a time.

Our first neighborhood, Legacy Station, was developed near downtown Edmond. Today, we’re nearing completion of our second neighborhood, Heritage Village, whre 35 homes will be finished by August 2025. Planning is already underway for our next development, which will break ground in fall 2025 in southeast Edmond.

Our Values

At Turning Point Ministries, we partner with modest-income families who are ready to take meaningful steps toward owning a home in Edmond. Our program is designed to empower individuals through education, involvement, and financial readiness.

To qualify, applicants must meet HUD income guidelines and complete several key milestones, including:

  • A qualified application that meets income eligibility requirements
  • 200 hours of seat equity through volunteer work on homes in the community
  • Completion of a homebuyer education course
  • Participation in a financial stewardship class
  • A pre-approval letter for a private mortgage

The pathway ensures that each homeowner is prepared for long-term success, while actively contributing to the community they’ll soon call home.
